How long do wax melts last?

Each wax melt provides up to 10 hours of fragrance, allowing you plenty of time to enjoy your chosen scent.

To get the most out of your Olivia Michael Candle Co. wax melts and maintain their quality, keep them out of reach of children and pets, away from direct sunlight, and stored in a cool, dry place.

When you are burning a wax melt it is important to choose the correct type of burner, make sure that the burner is designed to melt wax melts and is not an oil burner.

An oil burner is a lot smaller than a wax melt burner, meaning the bowl is a lot closer to the flame heating the wax melt – this causes the wax melt to burn too hot and even though you will get a strong hit of fragrance very quickly, you will not get the maximum burn time out of your product.

We recommend placing 1 wax melt in the top of your melt burner, light a good quality 4 hour tealight in the base of your burner and melt for a minimum of 2 hours to get a strong fragrance through that will effectively fill a room.

How long can I burn my wax melts?

Do not burn your wax melts for more than 4 hours at a time. Each melt provides up to 10 hours of fragrance, allowing for multiple uses from a single melt.

Why does my wax have dimples or cracks?

These aesthetic imperfections are natural and occur because we use a pure blend of rapeseed and coconut wax without additives. They do not affect the performance or scent throw of the wax melts and add to the charm of natural, plant-based products.

How do you keep wax melts fresh?

How do I store wax melts?

To maintain their quality, keep wax melts out of reach of children and pets, away from direct sunlight, and stored in a cool, dry place.

How do I remove old wax from my burner?

When your melt is no longer emitting fragrance, you need to remove it from your burner. The easiest way to do this is to heat your burner for 30 seconds to 1 minute to loosen the sides of the melt. Then, you can easily pop it out, dispose of it, and wipe the dish clean with a tissue. Please do not use anything sharp to try to remove the wax! Always remove any residue before switching to a different scent.

Do wax melts evaporate?

Wax melts do not evaporate like candles do. Once you can no longer smell the scent, dispose of the wax according to your local guidelines. Never pour melted wax down a sink or plug hole.

What happens to the wax when the fragrance is gone?

Wax melts do not burn down; instead, the fragrance evaporates over time. When your melt no longer emits any scent, it's time to remove it from the burner. Gently heat the burner for about 30 seconds to loosen the wax, then pop it out and wipe the dish clean with a tissue.

How do you use wax melts safely?

What is a wax melt?

Wax melts are scented pieces of wax that are melted in an electric or tea light warmer. The warmer heats and melts the solid wax, releasing the scent from the wax melt.

How do I use a wax melt?

To use a wax melt, place it into your warmer. The heat will melt the wax, filling your home with your chosen scent.

We recommend using 1-2 melts, depending on how strong you want the fragrance to be. Our wax melts can be used with both electric and tea light burners; however, we do not recommend using a Scentsy or Yankee Candle burner. Your wax melt warmer should have a distance of at least 10 cm between the tip of the flame and the base of your melt.

Add the wax melts to your burner and switch it on (if it's electric) or light the tea light under the burner. Electric warmers take a little longer to heat up because they do not use a direct flame. It is at your discretion how many wax melts to use in your burner, but please remember that if you use too many, the fully melted wax can overflow. Consider the size of your burner when deciding whether to use more than one wax melt.

What type of wax melt warmer should I use?

You can use either tea light or electric wax melt warmers, but we do not recommend using Scentsy or Yankee Candle burners. For safe and effective use, ensure there is a 10 cm distance between the flame tip and the base of the melt.

How many wax melts should I use at a time?

One wax melt is usually sufficient to fill a room with fragrance. However, you can use two melts at once if you prefer a stronger scent.

Can I reuse a wax melt after it cools?

Yes, you can reheat and reuse a wax melt multiple times as long as it still emits fragrance. Use it until the scent completely evaporates.
